Configuring SNMP

To configure the SNMP on an Alcatel switch you have to go to the command line.

To do this you connect to the equipment in SSH or telnet, then copy / paste the following command lines after having modified them according to your infrastructure:

IP SNMP service
user snmpuser password supervision read-only all no auth
aaa authentication snmp "local"
snmp security no security
snmp community map "public" user "snmpuser" on
snmp station Supervision booth  161> "snmpuser" v2 enable

For example:

snmp station "snmpuser" v2 enable

Check for proper operation

We check the correct operation and save the configuration:

write memory
copy working certified
