Monitoring pre-requisites

To monitor AWS via ServiceNav, it is necessary to create an access key with read rights on CloudWatch.

Creating a user

To add a user go to the menu  IAM → Users → add user

Enter the user name and select "access type by programming".

Add CloudWatchReadOnly strategy

Leave the other settings as defaults.

When the user is created, a keyID and a secret access key will be displayed, which can be retrieved and stored.

ServiceNav implementation

At company level in the menu Configuration > General > Monitoring Accounts of ServiceNav, add these two pieces of information to the Amazon Web Service monitoring account.

The monitoring account also requires the AWS region.

You can find the list of regions in the top right corner of the AWS management console:

The monitoring account can be overridden at the host level if you are using multiple AWS regions.
