Configuring SNMP

To configure SNMP on an Alcatel switch, you have to go to the command line.

To do this, connect to the equipment using SSH or telnet, then copy/paste the following command lines after modifying them according to your infrastructure:

IP service SNMP
user snmpuser password supervision read-only all no auth
aaa authentication snmp "local
snmp security no security
snmp community map "public" user "snmpuser" on
snmp station <the ip of the supervision box 161> "snmpuser" v2 enable

Example:

snmp station 192.168.1.1 "snmpuser" v2 enable

Check for proper operation

We check the correct operation and save the configuration:

write memory
copy working certified
